My name is Melanie Lous, I am a registered osteopath with over 15 years of clinical experience and I have extensive training in concussion. My approach combines evidence-based care, gentle hands-on treatment and individualised rehabilitation guidance.
My goal is to help you understand your symptoms, move with greater comfort and confidence, and return to the activities that matter to you.
Appointments are in the clinic in Riccarton or by telehealth when appropriate.

Frequently Asked Questions
ACC may contribute towards concussion treatment or osteopathic care when your injury is covered by an approved ACC claim. A surcharge applies and the amount depends on the type of appointment and your claim.
If you don’t already have an ACC claim, we can help you lodge one where appropriate. Please contact us if you’re unsure which appointment to book or what costs to expect
You do not need a GP referral to book an appointment with Triskelion Concussion Care and Osteopathy. However for concussion, a medical assessment with your GP is important to establish the diagnosis.
At your first appointment, we will assess your symptoms, identify areas that may benefit from rehabilitation, and provide appropriate education, advice and early rehabilitation where suitable. With your consent, we can send a letter to your GP outlining my assessment findings and concerns to support their clinical assessment and diagnosis.
This means you can begin working towards recovery from your first appointment, while ensuring that appropriate medical assessment and follow-up are in place.

Your first appointment gives us time to understand your concerns, medical history and goals. We will carry out an appropriate assessment, explain our findings and discuss a personalised management plan with you.
For concussion appointments, the initial consultation focuses on assessment, understanding your symptoms, education and advice about recovery. Depending on your needs and the time available, there may not be time for hands-on treatment during this first visit.
For osteopathy appointments, treatment may begin during the initial consultation if appropriate following the assessment. We will discuss your options and agree on the approach together.
We are an Easy-Claim clinic for eligible Southern Cross members, which may simplify the claiming process. Cover for osteopathy varies between insurers and individual policies, and not every policy includes osteopathic treatment.
We recommend checking your policy, annual limits and any claiming requirements with your insurer before your appointment.
